The Educational Foundation will be processing a minimum of fifty (50) $1000.00 Knights of Columbus Education Foundation Student Grants paid to the Catholic School that the student is enrolled in. This includes Grades 1 through 12 that are eligible for the Student Grants.
Applications will be accepted by the Educational Foundation Secretary, if postmarked on or before January 31, 2025. The Educational Foundation members will then hold a drawing, and the winners will be notified by the Secretary and also posted on the K of C State Web Site at www.kofcpennsylvania.org. Only applications post marked on or before January 31, 2025 will be eligible for the drawing.

Only ONE application per eligible student and only one application per envelope is allowed.

Each Member must comply with the following:

• The student’s father must be a Knight of Columbus in good standing with a Pennsylvania Knights of Columbus Council.
• Be the son or daughter of a deceased Knight who was a member in good standing of a Pennsylvania Knights of Columbus Council at the time of death.

Applicant must be aware and comply with these instructions:

• Grant application is to be sent to the Foundation Secretary, (George Beckes, 10236 Sidehill Rd. North East, PA 16428) postmarked no later than January 31, 2025, for the new school year. No application will be accepted if post marked after January 31st, 2025.
• ONLY ONE APPLICATION PER ENVELOPE.
• Applicant must complete the application including obtaining all required signatures and Council Seal.
• Applicants are required to file for a Student Grant each year even if the student was awarded a Grant in the previous year.
• A letter will be required from the Catholic School that the student will be attending. This letter must
  have, School letter head, name and address, contact person, telephone number and e-mail address. Once a copy of the letter is received by the Educational Foundation Secretary stating the student is enrolled for the coming school year, the process of sending a $1000.00 Grant check to the Catholic School of choice will begin. This check will be processed by the Educational Foundation Treasurer in the July / August time frame.

Rules for Grants and General Information

• The Knights of Columbus Educational Foundation Secretary will be responsible for processing and handling all of the Grant requests.
• Applications will be marked with a numerical number as received and placed in a box for later processing. Once all applications post marked on or before January 31, 2025 are received, we will review all the applications to verify that each envelope has an assigned number. The Educational Foundation will hold a special drawing and will insure that a number has been assigned to each application. Matching numbers to the applications will be placed in a drum to be drawn and determine the Grant winners. The barrel will have the exact numbers of coins as applications.
• Families with more than one child MUST fill out an application for each child requesting a Student Grant. Each application has to be placed in its own envelope and sent to the Educational Foundation Secretary. (Only one application per envelope is allowed)
• Ten alternate applications will be drawn in case a winning student does not choose to attend a Catholic School. The names will be recorded as they are drawn.
• Checks will be processed during the July/August time frame. If a school requires payment before July, you must notify the Educational Foundation secretary. He will work with the Educational Foundation Treasurer to see if we have enough funding to process an early check.
• All Grant money not used will stay in the Educational Foundations account for future use.
• The Educational Foundation reserves the right to change the rules of this program as deemed necessary.
• The Educational Foundation reserves the right to change the dollar amount and number of grants as deemed necessary.
